Gen 4 keeps the same baseline architecture as Gen 3 but physically fuses the Axon Neural Processing Unit directly onto the silicon. This eliminates the power overhead of forcing a standard CPU to crunch complex math vectors — allowing local pattern matching, biometric parsing, or voice control to run for years on tight battery cells.
SHIP mode takes advantage of this architecture: when a device is in transit or dormant, it enters a near-zero power state. The moment the case is opened, the camera body is accessed, or the cap is unlocked, the system wakes and reconnects instantly — without the boot delay of a cold-start device.
